Fellow AAPPD Members,

Let's all remember to recognize and showcase our amazing Direct Support Professionals this month!

This year marks the 17th year of Arizona's Direct Support Professional Appreciation Day. Citizens across the state are recognizing the crucial care and support these front-line workers are providing each and every day to thousands and thousands of elderly individuals and individuals with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, and physical disabilities.

Though we are grateful to Direct Support Professionals every day, let's all take time to recognize their importance, dedication, hard and innovative work to support the dreams, aspirations, and community inclusion of people with disabilities.

This year, through the myriad of challenges brought about by the COVID-19 crisis, we are especially grateful to this invaluable workforce.

Take the time to say, "Thank You, Direct Support Professionals, for all you do!" this week... and don't forget to take a look at a very special recognition of our outstanding Direct Support Professionals in the Arizona Capitol Times from Friday, September, 25, 2020 below.

Join me in letting this amazing group of individuals know how much their contribution is appreciated and does not go unnoticed.

Warm Regards,

Gina Judy, AAPPD Sergeant-at-Arms
