Arizona Association of Providers for People with Disabilities Honors Rep. Kate Brophy McGee with Legislative Hero Award

The Arizona Association of Providers for People with Disabilities (AAPPD) has awarded Representative Kate Brophy McGee with the Legislative Hero Award to recognize her long-time dedication to issues involving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and her work during the 2016 legislative session.

AAPPD Board Members presented Brophy McGee with the award at the AAPPD Fall Conference on Friday, September 9, 2016.

"Representative Brophy McGee has demonstrated tremendous compassion towards the disability community throughout her legislative career. From her sponsorship of the Client Services Trust Fund bill, her support of the ABLE Act and her numerous acts of support for additional funding for services to this community, she is truly a legislative hero," said AAPPD Chair Carol Carr.

"I thank the members of AAPPD for this honor.  I appreciate their care and concern for these vulnerable people and look forward to our continued work together," said Brophy McGee of the award.

AAPPD presents the Legislative Hero Award to outstanding advocates for the disability community.

AAPPD is a 501 (c) 4 statewide consortium of providers contracted to deliver services to individuals with developmental and/or physical disabilities, and has served the state of Arizona since 1985. AAPPD provides advocacy, counsel and other services to more than 90 member organizations that share a common dedication to the needs of individuals and families with disabilities.
